This accident was in so many ways a life changing event.  As can be expected I went through times of success and also time of disappointment and failure.  I have recently finally come to the point of not just acceptance of it all, but being grateful that it happened when it did.

When it first happened, my sister and son came out to see me, and it just looked like I was sleeping.  Two months later was a different story.  I had lost a bunch of weight and was wasting away before their eyes.  It seemed to really be a diet plan than worked, but I would never say "Step in front of a moving car" as a weight loss program.

Two days ago I was downstairs with the family, and got to watch as my year old granddaughter took her first steps and begin to walk.  She was born just three weeks after I was released from the hospital after the accident.  If it weren't for what happened to me, I would still be on the other side of the country and would have heard about it on the phone instead of being there to see it.

As tough as times may seem, there is always hope that not only better days are coming, but GREAT days are coming if we will just wait for the miracles.
